NEXTHEALTH is coordinated by BIOCAT and, as well as IBEC, involves the University of Barcelona, the Hospital de Sant Joan de Déu, Eurecat and IUCT, among others.
As well as NEXTHEALTH and the other health-related one, TEC-SALUT, the other three RIS3CAT communities cover agriculture and food (INNOAPAT), energy (ENERGIA), and sustainable mobility (MOBILITAT ECO). These first five communities consist of 108 participating organizations and over 1,300 professionals.
Being a member of NEXTHEALTH means that IBEC will play a key role in the European Commission’s Research and Innovation Strategies for Smart Specialisation in Catalonia, specifically within the health sector, which is along similar lines as EIT Health but at a regional level.
