Predoctoral researcher at the Nanoscale bioelectrical characterization group (PHD_GG)

Introduction to the vacant position:

The Nanoscale biolectrical characterization Group is looking for a PhD student to develop his/her PhD thesis project on the modelling of organic electronic biosensors. The contract will be within the framework of the Organic Bioelectronics Research Line of the group, whose objective is to develop theoretical and experimental methods to understand the mechanisms of action of organic biosensors and to develop applications based on them.

The successful candidate will develop research involving:

  • Analytical and/or numerical physical models of organic field effect transistors for bioelectronic applications (EGOFETs and OECTs).
  • Time and frequency response analysis.
  • Models for electrophysiological recordings with organic field effect biosensors
  • Models for scanning dielectric microscopy on organic field effect biosensors
  • Comparison of theoretical predictions with experimental results

Requirements for candidates:

Essential:

  • Bachelor (BSc) and Master (MSc) on Physics/Mathematics/Engineering and related fields
  • Self-critical, capacity to learn and bring knowledge
  • Competencies and skills: Communication, Teamwork, Proactivity, Commitment, Collegiality, Integrity, Critical and Analytical thinking
  • High level of English

Advantageous:

  • Background on theoretical physics, applied mathematics, solid-state physics or electronics are a plus.
  • Programming and/or finite element numerical methods skills are a plus.

  • Full time 4-year contract paid in accordance with the Spanish PhD rules
