In his article, he describes nanomedicine as a ‘paradigm of translational research’ – a meeting point for basic investigation, technological developments and clinical applications – and suggests that the time is optimal for the region to take some major steps forward in the field thanks to the synergies of our research centers, universities, hospitals, and pharmaceutical and medical technology industries.
