Introduction to the vacant position:
The Biosensors for Bioengineering Group is looking for a Laboratory Assistant to work on
the design and fabrication of devices related to skeletal muscle cell culture and biosensing
monitoring. The contract will be within the framework of the DMD-on-Chip project funded
by Duchenne Parent Project Spain, whose objective is the development of a “Muscle-on-a-
Chip” (MoC) platform for the preclinical evaluation of potential therapies for Duchenne
muscular dystrophy.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Design and fabrication of cell culture devices and sensing platforms.
- Biosensor validation.
- Skeletal muscle cell culture maintenance.
Requirements for candidates:
Essential:
- Degree on any field on Biomedical Engineering.
- Experience on microfabrication techniques, device fabrication (specifically on
electronics will be a plus). - Competencies and skills: Communication, Teamwork and collaboration, Commitment,
Proactivity, Integrity, Critical and Analytical thinking. - High level of English.
Advantageous: - Experience in skeletal muscle cell culture.
- Experience in muscular dystrophy research.
- Experience in 3D design and printing.
