IBEC and IrsiCaixa collaborate in EU project to bring nanotechnology to the classroom
On 7th-9th November IrsiCaixa’s Unit of Public Engagement on Health Research, in a collaboration with IBEC, will host two workshops to help teachers who want to introduce the concept of nanotechnology to their pupils. The initiative is part of the European project “NanOpinion”, which aims to monitor public opinion on nanotechnology, paying special attention to public education.

TV and radio interest in Dermoglass project
On Tuesday the head of the Biomaterials for Regenerative Therapies group, Elisabeth Engel, was interviewed about their Dermoglass project for the Cadena SER radio programme La Ventana. Dermoglass is IBEC’s first venture into crowdfunding, and thanks to its 64 supporters so far it has already achieved 50% of its target.
IBEC organized the III Meeting of the Spanish Chapter ESB
Yesterday the III Spanish Chapter Meeting of the European Society of Biomechanics (ESB) was celebrated and organized by the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC). The event took place at the Parc Científic de Barcelona (PCB) and hosted 60 people from research centres, hospitals and universities throughout Spain.
