Xavier is nominated, alongside the UPC’s Marino Arroyo, for their groups’ research into what happens at a cellular level when the body’s tissues are broken – work that was published last year in Nature Materials.
The poll to vote on the website was activated yesterday and will remain open until 29th February at midnight.
The three winning investigators will be announced in the first week of March, and the awards ceremony will be held at La Pedrera in May, at which the winners will be invited to explain their work to non-specialists.
