L’IBEC va ser mencionat ahir al diari espanyol El Mundo, quan la responsable del grup de Robòtica Alícia Casals va donar la seva opinió experta en un article sobre l’ús de robots en la medicina i els obstacles financers que impedeixen la seva aplicació a l’àmbit hospitalari.
La nota de premsa sobre el descobriment de fenotips específics del Parkinson en cèl·lules mare pluripotents induïdes d’afectats de la malaltia que va fer el grup de Control de la Potència de Cèl·lules Mare va rebre cobertura en diversos diaris, revistes i webs, entre els quals es troben el diari de negocis El Economista, la revista de ciència online Tendencias 21, i Europapress, una de les principals agències de notícies nacionals.
In their bulletin for February, the Spanish Association of Biotechnology Companies (ASEBIO) published an editorial by the president of their scientific committee Emilio Muñoz, about the impact of bionanotechnology in Spain and guidelines for the future.
IBEC’s Robotics group leader Alícia Casals is the subject of the February 2012 edition of Destacamus, a bimonthly magazine published by Biopol’H which profiles researchers.
IBEC director and head of the Biomaterials for Regenerative Therapies group Josep Planell was quoted as an expert opinion last week in an article in La Vanguardia. The story covered a new chip developed at MIT able to release drugs under the skin while dosage and timing is controlled wirelessly.
This week’s 5th Annual Conference of the Biomedical Research Technology Platforms in Barcelona, which IBEC is attending in its capacity as coordinator of the Spanish Nanomedicine Platform (NanoMed Spain), is the subject of an article in Spanish healthcare magazine Redacción Médica today.
Alícia Casals’ Robotics laboratory was featured on Barcelona Televisió’s programme “Connexió” on Tuesday 10th January, where they showed some of the robotic devices that the lab is currently developing.

El 23 d’octubre, el laboratori de Robòtica de l’IBEC va aparèixer al programa ‘Emprendedores e innovadores’ a La 2, quan l’estudiant de màster Paloma Fuentes va fer una visita guiada als telespectadors de la cuina robotitzada amb l’ajut de l’estudiant de doctorat Manuel Vinagre (a la imatge).
