CV Summary
Nicolò Accanto is an expert in two-photon microscopy, ultrafast laser beam shaping, and miniaturized optical technologies for neuroscience. After earning his PhD in ultrafast nanophotonics at ICFO (Barcelona) in 2016, under the supervision of Prof. Niek van Hulst, he started his postdoc in the group of Prof. Valentina Emiliani in Paris (first at the Paris Descartes University, then at the Institut de la Vision), where he developed spatial beam shaping strategies for two-photon optogenetic applications. In 2019, he joined INSERM as a permanent researcher, securing multiple grants from the French National Research Agency (ANR). In 2023, he was awarded an ERC Starting Grant to establish his research group on Nonlinear Photonics for Neuroscience at IBEC.
