The Synthetic, Perceptive, Emotive and Cognitive Systems (SPECS) group at the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) is offering 2 Research Assistant positions to contribute to the research conducted in the lab. that has the objectives to uncover neural and behavioral mechanisms underlying brain changes taking place in health and disease as well as in artificial behaving systems. A chip against chronic bacterial infections

IBEC researchers develop a device that allows to grow biofilms and analyze their susceptibility to different antibiotics in a simple way and using patient samples. BiofilmChip, a low-cost, easy-to-use diagnostic device, opens the way to finding effective and custom treatments against chronic infections produced by biofilms.

A “Crazy about bioengineering” transmits her passion for nanotechnology to her classmates

Bioengineering is powerful and reaches the classroom thanks to a study on nanotechnology, carried out by students from the Joan Pelegrí school. Ward de la UCL about a retrospective analysis that concludes that high-intensity therapy beginning within 6 months post-stroke offers the best rehabilitation outcomes, suggesting that standards of care offered by many healthcare systems should be re-analysed.
