Science: Comedy and Communication
Dr Matthew Murtha, https://drmurtha.com/
Dr Matthew Murtha earned his PhD at Ohio State University where his work contributed to several therapies that have passed clinical trials. He completed post-docs at NYU and IBIDELL where his pioneering functional genomics techniques were used to investigate molecular causes of autism. He has since left the lab to devote himself full time to science communication.
In his talk, a combination of stand up and story telling, he’ll talk about how he came to be a scientist and then communicator and will give some tips on how to communicate sciecne and make it more understandable and attractive for a non-scientific audience.
