Introduction to the vacant position:
The Technology Transfer and Business Development Office at IBEC is looking for two Innovation Managers, who will report to the Head of the Office.
Your purpose will be to manage innovation projects, focused on the transfer of knowledge, in order to promote, advise and support IBEC researchers in the field of innovation, transfer and valorisation of technology, so that the research results reach the society and the market, increasing the impact of IBEC.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Analysis together with IBEC researchers of the ongoing research projects and identification of those representing an innovative approach that can be transferred to the market, addressing a challenge in the One Health field, considering the Mission reflected in the IBEC strategic plan.
- Design and management together with Group Leaders and Project Office of valorization programs of the technology transfer projects
- Analysis of business opportunities related to the assets in IBEC portfolio, including technical assessment and market analysis
- Patent management.
- Detection of financial opportunities for the valorization programs.
- Detection, promotion assistance in proof-of-concept projects.
- Support in the promotion of the culture of innovation by organizing relevant activities
- Detection of competitive innovation grants (national & international) and support in the application and drafting of innovation components
- Management of projects and assets in the innovation portfolio
- Support for Business Development Managers of the Office in relations with companies/institutions interested in the Group Leaders’ research and IBEC’s licensing opportunities
- Collaborate with Business Development Managers of the Office to support the technology transfer strategy of the portfolio
- Revision and Management of contractual agreements relevant to the Office (MTA/DTA/NDA/Collaboration agreements…)
Requirements for candidates:
- Master or PhD with experience in research, in life sciences.
- Minimum 2 years of previous experience in technology transfer.
- Knowledge about public and / or private finance funds for valorisation activities.
- Basic knowledge of IP protection measures, especially patenting system
- Previous experience in Proof of Concept projects.
- Advanced level of English. Advanced level Spanish and Catalan.
- Competences and skills: Teamwork, Proactivity, Problem-solving, Communication, Negotiation, Commitment, Integrity, Critical and Analytical thinking.
Additional experience that will be also valuable:
Previous experience in one or more of the following:
- Research projects management with several partners.
- Drug and/or medical device development.

- Full time contract. Open-ended contract due to technical and scientific activities linked to the project and budget duration
- Up to 2 days of Telework
