Laboratory Technician Embryologist at the Bioengineering in Reproductive Health Research Group

Application Deadline: 29/07/2021
Ref: LT-SO

The Bioengineering in Reproductive Health Group is looking for a Laboratory Technician Embryologist to to participate in a study of imaging the early mammalian development.

Our laboratory is a multidisciplinary environment where biologists, biophysicists, clinicians and business developers synergize to create a unique environment shaped by science and entrepreneurship. Due to the high translational component of our research, we have established collaboration contracts with the pharma industry, hospitals and venture capital to bring our technology to the clinics and the market.

In our lab, we develop high-tech projects in the fields of embryology, cell biology and imaging. Our strategy involves the development of new products for the pharmaceutical industry. The current position seeks a motivated cell culture technician with experience in diverse cell culture systems.

Postdoctoral position / Senior Research Assitant at the Molecular Imaging for Precision Medicine Research Group

Application Deadline: 30/07/2021

The Molecular Imaging for Precision Medicine group at the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) is looking for a postdoctoral researcher or senior research assistant to work on the development of microfluidic platforms for tissue engineered organ-on-a-chip cultures.

The contract will be within the framework of the EU FET Open project “Benchtop NMR spectrometer for lab-on-a-chip” (https://blocproject.eu), whose objective is the development of non-invasive assays based on hyperpolarized magnetic resonance (MR) to study real-time metabolism on tissue engineered organ-on-a-chip systems.

IBEC researchers win two “BIST Ignite Seed Grants”

IBEC researchers receive two “Ignite Seed Grants” to combine their skills with other BIST members to seek scientific answers to health challenges. Benedetta Bolognesi will study, with the IRB, Huntington’s disease and other neurodegenerative pathologies without treatment. On the other hand, Juan Manuel Fernández-Costa and researchers at ICFO will develop muscles-on-a-chip and biomagnetism sensors to accelerate the design of new treatments for muscular dystrophy.
