«Un robot tiene que portarse de forma agradable»

In the article, journalist Gemma Tramullas asks him about the work of IBEC’s Robotics group in designing and developing robotic systems that assist people, and Xavier explains how he became interested in robots as a child. He also talks about technological singularity – the eventual emergence of greater-than human intelligence – and the importance of society being able to see it as «an opportunity rather than a catastrophe». He also addresses some of the myths and fears about robots that have grown out of science fiction films and novels, and talks about how close we are to some of the scenarios that such films present.
