Una técnica de edición genética ofrece esperanza para las enfermedades hereditarias
Investigadores del Hospital Clínic, el IDIBAPS, el Hospital Sant Joan de Déu y el Instituto de Bioingeniería de Catalunya (IBEC) han participado en un estudio liderado por científicos de Salk Institute en La Jolla (California) en el que han utilizado «tijeras» moleculares para eliminar las mutaciones mitocondriales en óvulos de ratón.
Investigadores del Hospital Clínic, el IDIBAPS, el Hospital Sant Joan de Déu y el Instituto de Bioingeniería de Catalunya (IBEC) han participado en un estudio liderado por científicos de Salk Institute en La Jolla (California) en el que han utilizado «tijeras» moleculares para eliminar las mutaciones mitocondriales en óvulos de ratón. El estudio lo publica hoy la revista Cell y está liderado por el Dr. Juan Carlos Izpisúa-Belmonte, profesor del Laboratorio de Expresión Génica en el Salk Institute.

El IBEC recibe la acreditación Severo Ochoa a la Excelencia
El Instituto de Bioingeniería de Cataluña es uno de los dos centros en España premiados, en esta ronda, con la acreditación del programa de Excelencia Severo Ochoa.
El Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad ha anunciado esta mañana los ganadores provisionales de la codiciada distinción, seleccionados por un jurado internacional compuesto por más de 70 jueces. La acreditación a la Excelencia Severo Ochoa identifica y promueve a centros y unidades de investigación en España que destacan como referentes internacionales en su campo de especialización.

IBEC receives ‘HR Excellence in Research’ award from the European Commission
IBEC has been awarded the ‘Human Resources Excellence in Research’ from the European Commission, in recognition of its commitment to continuously improving its HR policies in line with The European Charter of Researchers and The Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers (Charter and Code).
IBEC can now use the official HR Excellence in Research logo to help promote itself as a provider of a stimulating and favourable work environment according to the Charter and Code, which describe the rights and responsibilities of researchers and their employers and contribute to the creation of a labour market that is transparent, attractive and open at an international level.
