Xavier Trepat ganador del décimo premio Banc Sabadell a la Investigación Biomédica
El investigador principal y profesor ICREA Xavier Trepat es el ganador de este año de los Premios Banc Sabadell a la Investigación Biomédica por su trabajo para entender los mecanismos biofísicos fundamentales subyacentes a la interacción y a la comunicación celular.
La notícia se ha hehco pública hoy en un almuerzo de prensa (izquierda) al que han atendido el President i el Vice President de la Fundació Banc Sabadell, Miquel Molins i Sònia Mulero, y también como miembros del jurado Jordi Camí (UPF), Isabel Illa (UAB) i Eduard Batlle (ICREA/IRB).

La semana que viene, científicos de la universidad de Tel Aviv (TAU), incluyendo al antiguo científico jefe del Ministerio de Ciencia y Tecnología, están visitando Barcelona para formar parte dell simposio conjunto con IBEC.
Con muchas similaridades entre Catalunya e Israel – que son parejos cuando se trata de la producción en investigación en Science y Nature, con más de 30 publicaciones por millón de habitantes y niveles similares de financiación bajo el marco FP7 – este evento se construye bajo la misión de investigación de Artur Mas y de los científicos con sede en Barcelona que se llevó a cabo el año pasado con el apoyo de la AGAUR.
IBEC hosts CellMech2015 this week
The 6th European CellMech Meeting, which is being hosted by IBEC, started this morning at the University of Barcelona’s Faculty of Medicine.
IBEC group leaders Daniel Navajas, Xavier Trepat and Pere Roca-Cusachs are the organising committee of this year’s CellMech, one of the premier worldwide meetings in cell mechanobiology. The conference, which goes on until Friday, focuses in particular on the integration of mechanical processes across scales, from subcellular components to tissues.
