The ‘Materials Science and Technology of Polymers’ group led by professor Julius Vancso focuses their research work on the synthesis of polymers to create nanostructured surfaces, and the manipulation of these nanostructures for a variety of applications, ranging from biotechnology to electronics. The team also works on the single molecule field using atomic force microscopy.
Professor Vancso’s group is part of one of the biggest nanotechnology institutes in Europe, the MESA+ Institute. In the past, it has collaborated closely with several of the groups that work on ‘bio-interfaces’ at IBEC. During their visit a series of seminars on this general topic of ‘bio-interfaces’, will be held.
