La Bioenginyeria contra la COVID-19 accelera gràcies a “La Marató” 

Tres projectes amb contribució de l’Institut de Bioenginyeria de Catalunya (IBEC) rebran finançament de “la Marató de TV3” per investigar diferents aspectes de la COVID19. Gràcies a les aportacions rebudes, els experts aprofundiran en la comprensió de la malaltia i les seves possibles solucions terapèutiques, estudiaran millores en els processos d’atenció a l’pacient, i desenvoluparan un sistema per predir l’evolució de sistema respiratori, i per avançar en el tractament de pacients amb pneumònia derivada de COVID19.

The Targeted Therapeutics and nanodevices group at the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) is looking for a Research Assistant to collaborate in a research project focused on the design and characterization of drug targeting strategies for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases.

The contract will be within the framework of the project “CROSSTARGET: Development of new translational cross-species tools for therapeutic targeting with organ and subcellular precision”, funded by the Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades under its RETOS program.

The Synthetic, Perceptive, Emotive and Cognitive Systems (SPECS) group at the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) is offering a Postdoctoral position to work on cognitive and the neuronal mechanisms mediating memory, space memory, and content generation in health and disease i.e after stroke and Alzheimer disease. The position will be within the framework of the AAL project NEST that will build the NEST Architecture integrating principles of brain mechanisms with multi-modal interface systems to provide unique diagnostic and prognostic information for stroke patients, advancing therapeutic intervention and our ability to understand the pathology and promote well-being

The Synthetic, Perceptive, Emotive and Cognitive Systems (SPECS) group at the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) is looking for a Project Manager in Research specialization in ICT ( Information and Communication Technologies) . We have an exciting full-time, development opportunity for a new Project Manager to join the SPECS-lab and the Projects Office in Barcelona.

The role of the project manager will be to oversee and manage the SPECS-lab research projects with the research lines assigned, liaising with IBECS’s project office and other sites and institutions across Spain and Europe.

L’aprenentatge automàtic redueix el temps de processament d’imatges de microscòpia de mesos a només segons

Amb un nou mètode que combina microscopis de rastreig de força d’alta potència i l’aprenentatge automàtic, els investigadors de l’IBEC han reduït dràsticament el temps de processament necessari per aconseguir un mapa de composicions bioquímiques a nanoescala a partir d’imatges elèctriques de cèl·lules eucariotes en tan sols segons.

L’IBEC i EMBL organitzen un exitós taller sobre enginyeria de sistemes vius

El passat 4 de juny l’IBEC i l’EMBL ho van tornar a fer: unir forces per organitzar un exitós esdeveniment sobre els reptes i oportunitats dels “sistemes vius d’enginyeria multicel·lular” (M-CELS). Més de 100 persones van assistir a aquest esdeveniment online, que va ser una sessió satèl·lit d’un esdeveniment virtual més gran realitzat durant els dies anteriors a Boston, el M-CELS Workshop 2021.
