Diagonal.The Campus Diagonal Besòs of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) is a new environment for innovation and knowledge, located at the point where Barcelona and the town of Sant Adrià de Besòs meet. Barcelona Est Escola d’Enginyeria (EEBE) is currently the main centre residing there.
Premio de educación para las actividades de divulgación del IBEC
El IBEC ha sido reconocido miembro del Consejo de Innovación Pedagógica por su programa de divulgación en una ceremonia celebrada la semana pasada en el Ayuntamiento de Barcelona.
Del proceso de selección al que se sometieron 40 entidades durante el año 2017, solo 7 han sido premiadas después de corroborar que la oferta de los centros contaba con una clara oferta pedagógica. Incluyendo las nuevas incorporaciones, este consejo lo forman 161 centres miembros con una oferta de más de 5000 actividades pedagógicas.

Master Student Position for the Development of Drug Delivery Systems (Ref: MS-SS)

The nanodevices group at the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) is looking for a Master Student to participate in a project on on developing new drug delivery systems against bacterial infections.
The objective of the project is is to synthesize ‘smart’ magnetic core-double-shell mesoporous silica nanoparticles (CDS-MSNs) in combination with metal nanoparticles and targeting molecules for site-specific, time-releasing controlled and efficient delivery of antibiotics in different bacterial infection environments, such as planktonic bacteria and biofilms in vitro.

The Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC), a cutting-edge research center based in Barcelona, is looking for a Project Manager in Research. His/her role will be to oversee and manage the research projects of several research lines, liaising with other sites and institutions across Spain and Europe.
This position is supported by the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness within the Severo Ochoa Centres of Excellence Initiative 2015-2019.
Un proyecto del IBEC obtiene financiación de la AECC
Un proyecto del grupo Pluripotent stem cells and activation of endogenous tissue programs for organ regeneration del IBEC ha recibido financiación de la Fundación Científica de la Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer en su convocatoria de Ayudas LAB AECC del 2017.
El grupo de Nuria Montserrat trabajará junto con investigadores de otros institutos de Barcelona y uno de los principales hospitales de la ciudad en el proyecto ‘Generation of Isogenic Models of Clear Cell Renal Cell Carcinoma using CRISPR-engineered Kidney Organoids, for the identification of diagnostic biomarkers’. Los investigadores recibirán apoyo durante un período de tres años por parte de la Fundación Científica AECC, cuyo programa ‘Ayudas LAB’ financia a grupos emergentes para llevar a cabo proyectos en cáncer que tienen muchas posibilidades de ser transladados a la clínica.
