Un estudio internacional dirigido por el investigador del IBEC Giuseppe Battaglia describe un mecanismo y las condiciones necesarias que permiten que moléculas atraviesen la barrera hematoencefálica, la capa protectora del cerebro. El estudio describe el papel de la proteína LRP1 en la estabilización de pasajes tubulares, abriendo una posible vía de administración más segura y eficiente de fármacos al cerebro.
