El IBEC firma un acuerdo con Bioibérica

El IBEC ha firmado un acuerdo de colaboración con Bioibérica S.A., una compañía especializada en I+D, producción y venta de biomoléculas y nuevas tecnologías para las industrias farmacéuticas, veterinarias y agroquímicas. Es la historia de éxito más reciente en la búsqueda activa del IBEC para establecer proyectos de investigación con socios de la industria que comparten su compromiso de llevar la investigación y las tecnologías de la salud de alta calidad en el mercado y el paciente.

El IBEC – concretamente la unidad conjunta Nanomalaria con el IS Global, dirigida por Xavier Fernández-Busquets – y Bioibérica, que desde su formación en 1975 se ha centrado en la investigación y la producción de biomoléculas extraídas de tejido animal con importantes propiedades biológicas y terapéuticas, explorarán formas de combinar su experiencia para lograr avances en la medicina del futuro.

Focus on Cystic Fibrosis

To coincide with National Cystic Fibrosis Day 2016, IBEC and the Catalan Association of Cystic Fibrosis (ACFQ) have organized an event, «The present and future of Cystic Fibrosis», which is taking place on 27th April at the Barradas auditorium (Rambla Just Oliveras 56, L’Hospitalet de Llobregat).

As part of IBEC’s new ‘Focus on…’ series of outreach activities, which will highlight diseases for which the institute’s researchers are working towards finding solutions, the day will raise awareness about and present research results and clinical advances relating to CF, which is one of the most common serious genetic diseases in Catalonia. IBEC’s Bacterial Infections: Antimicrobial Therapies group’s projects researching the enzyme that promotes the growth of the bacteria linked to this disease, and possible therapeutic targets, has been supported by the ACFQ since 2009.
