Advances in nanobiotechnology and nanomedicine explored at the 12th International NanoBio&Med Conference

The latest developments in nanotechnology, biotechnology and medicine were presented at the NanoBio&Med 2024 International Conference, held this week at the Barcelona Science Park (PCB) from 5 to 7 November. This is an annual event designed to establish new collaborations and promote innovative projects in the scientific-industrial sector.

IBEC and BST strengthen ties with Translational Collaboration Day

IBEC and the Blood and Tissue Bank of Catalonia (BST) held a day to explore new collaborations in bioengineering and translational medicine. The meeting, held yesterday at IBEC, highlighted innovative projects, presented a joint PhD programme and strengthened the link between biomedical research and clinical applications.

Bioengineering for Emergent and Advanced Therapies at the 17th IBEC Symposium

IBEC’s 17th Annual Symposium focused on ‘Bioengineering for Emergent and Advanced Therapies’, one of IBEC’s key application areas. Around 300 people attended the event, including local and international researchers. It was a multidisciplinary environment in which experts from other centres and the IBEC community itself had the opportunity to present their projects and share knowledge.

IBEC celebrates 20th anniversary of nanorobot research

The Nanomotors International Conference was held in Barcelona from 2 to 5 June. The event, organised by the Institute of Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) in collaboration with the ‘la Caixa’ Foundation, the Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation, and the European Research Council (ERC), brought together the most prominent international leaders in the field of nanomotors. For three days, they learned about the latest advances in biomedical applications and the collective behaviour of self-propelled nanomotors, from both experimental and theoretical perspectives.

Successful conclusion of the third EMBL-IBEC conference

The third edition of the EMBL-IBEC conference organised by the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) and the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) focused on emerging and advanced therapies, bringing together around 150 international experts in the field of bioengineering last week at the PRBB in Barcelona.

IBEC and ICMS reunite once more at their Annual Collaborative Symposium

Today, on March 14th, the joint ICMS-IBEC symposium took place. This event was co-organized by IBEC and the Institute for Complex Molecular Systems (ICMS). Throughout the conference, researchers from both IBEC and ICMS presented their areas of research, aiming to enhance the scientific collaboration between the two institutions.
