Introduction to the vacant position:
The IMEM-BRT Group is looking for a Postdoc researcher to develop a research project on hydroxyaptite with customized electrical properties for biological applications. The contract will be within the framework of national and industrial projects, whose objective is to produce, characterize and test the material.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Studying and developing procedures to customize the electric properties of hydroxyapatite.
- Design and propose the potential applications of such material in the biomedical field, specifically through its incorporation in thin film hydrogels.
Requirements for candidates:
Essential:
- Doctoral degree in Biopolymers and/or related.
- Multidisciplinary qualifications (physics engineering and nanotechnology) and/or the design and characterization of biomaterials with customized electrical properties (specifically on hydroxyapatite will be a plus).
- Previous experience on thermal stimulated polarization treatment and plasma technologies.
- Proven capacity to lead, write and publish scientific studies.
- Competencies and skills: Communication, Teamwork and collaboration, Commitment, Proactivity, Integrity, Critical and Analytical thinking.
Advantageous:
- Knowledge on advanced characterization techniques such as scanning electron microscopy (SEM), High-Resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM), electrochemical characterization and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy operating under ultra-high vacuum and/or under near ambient pressure conditions (NAP-XPS).
- Previous experience in the synthesis of thin film hydrogels.
- Previous experience in transference of technology processes, including owning a patent.
