IBEC and IrsiCaixa collaborate in EU project to bring nanotechnology to the classroom

On 7th-9th November IrsiCaixa’s Unit of Public Engagement on Health Research, in a collaboration with IBEC, will host two workshops to help teachers who want to introduce the concept of nanotechnology to their pupils. The initiative is part of the European project “NanOpinion”, which aims to monitor public opinion on nanotechnology, paying special attention to public education.

IBEC organized the III Meeting of the Spanish Chapter ESB

Yesterday the III Spanish Chapter Meeting of the European Society of Biomechanics (ESB) was celebrated and organized by the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC). The event took place at the Parc Científic de Barcelona (PCB) and hosted 60 people from research centres, hospitals and universities throughout Spain.

First BBVA-funded outreach event a great success

IBEC research on a journal cover again

The October cover of Current Opinion in Cell Biology (the reference opinion journal in cell biology, with impact factor 12) features research by IBEC’s Pere Roca and Xavier Trepat, who together with Raimon Sunyer from the UB have published a review paper in the issue, “Mechanical guidance of cell migration: lessons from chemotaxis”.
