IBEC starts a new cycle of seminars
The first IBEC seminar of 2009 was held in the Félix Serratosa Room at Barcelona´s Scientific Park, with Professor Dario Anselmetti, from Germany´s Bielefeld University, as the speaker.

A group of researchers from Twente University in the Netherlands, will visit IBEC’s headquarters on Monday 19th January, with the aim to reinforce and expand the collaborations that already exist between the two institutions.
Dr Samuel Stupp, member of IBEC´s International Scientific Committee, visited the Institute’s headquarters in Barcelona for the first time. The one-day visit, on Friday 21st of November, started with a meeting with doctor Josep Planell and Abel Riera, director and managing director of IBEC, respectively. Also present at the meeting were Teresa Sanchis and Arantxa Sanz, scientific project managers.
A group of top researchers from Europe and United States meet in Barcelona in a Symposium organized by the Institute of Bioengineering of Catalonia on Advanced Microscopy Techniques for Immunanoscopy.
IBEC researchers will take part in Expoquimia 08, the largest event in applied chemistry in the Mediterranean.
ESOF is an open platform for debate and communication for the science community. It aims at presenting Europe’s leading research trends in science. ESOF2008 will be held in Barcelona from 18 to 22 July.
SIBB BioBCN2008 (3rd edition of the Iberian Biomaterials Congress as well as the XXXI Symposium of the Sociedad Ibérica de Biomecánica y Biomateriales), jointly organized by the Technical University of Catalonia and the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia, will be held in Barcelona, from 17 to 19 September 2008.
On May 26, IBEC – Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia will be hosting the event “Become a researcher!”, aimed at BD and master students, which intends to offer research positions at the Institute.
Prof. Julie MacPherson (Department of Chemistry, University of Warwick) has lectured for three days on “Electrical and electrochemical scanning probe techniques for imaging biological systems in fluid environment” at the University of Barcelona.
