Introduction to the vacant position:
The Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) is looking for a Digital Media Officer to join our communications team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and maintaining IBEC’s websites, managing graphic design projects, photography, and video production/editing. This role is key to ensuring the visual and digital communication of IBEC aligns with its mission and strengthens its image.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Website management: Creation, maintenance, and updating of institutional projects and events websites. Ensuring usability, accessibility, and compliance with IBEC’s standards.
- Graphic design: Development of visual materials such as brochures, posters, roll-ups, infographics, and other communication assets, ensuring a cohesive and professional image.
- Photography and videography: Capturing, editing, and producing high-quality photographs and videos for events, outreach activities, and promotional purposes.
Requirements for candidates:
Essential:
- 2+ years of experience in a similar role.
- CFGS or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Graphic Design, Audiovisual Communication, Digital Media).
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, etc.).
- 2 years’ experience in website design and management using CMS tools like WordPress, and basic knowledge of HTML/CSS.
- Strong skills in photography and video production/editing.
- Excellent organizational skills, with an eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Fluent in English, Spanish and Catalan.
- Strong knowledge of communication tools, such as email marketing platforms and content management systems.
- Ability to work independently, but also as part of a team.
- Creative mindset with a proactive attitude toward problem-solving.
Advantageous:
- Experience with UX/UI principles and web accessibility standards.
- Familiarity with scientific communication or research environments.
- Knowledge of motion graphics or animation.
- Knowledge of scriptwriting.

- Working conditions:
- Full time (37.5h). Open-ended contract due to technical and scientific activities linked to the project “Programa de recerca I innovació en Teragnosi Aplicada”.
