Ramon López (Biopol’H), Josep Planell and Josep Samitier (IBEC)
IBEC Director Josep Planell and Biopol’H Director Ramon López ratified the partnership of the institute and the consortium with the signing at the Biopol’H headquarters at the Hospital Duran i Reynals in Bellvitge. Televisió L’Hospitalet were in attendance to record the event, as well as conducting a brief interview with Planell afterwards.
Biopol’H (www.biopol.cat), which was launched in 2008, aims to work together with its partners to promote investigative research and technologically innovative activities at a national and international scale, especially in the field of nanomedicine. A particular aim is to develop coordination between the different entities to build a network of research excellence and to facilitate the effective exchange of resources and facilities. Several of IBEC’s groups already collaborate closely with labs at the Bellvitge Institute for Biomedical Research (IDIBELL) in various areas of research as part of the Biopol’H project.
The agreement will be consolidated further in the future with IBEC’s planned move to the Biopol Health Science Park at Bellvitge, which neighbours other Biopol’H partners IDIBELL, the University Hospital of Bellvitge, the Catalan Institute of Oncology and the Health Sciences Campus of Bellvitge.
