Introduction to the vacant position:
The Pluripotency for Organ Regeneration Group is looking for a Laboratory Technician work on the development of engineering kidney organoids to study the interplay between Tissue Mechanics and Metabolism: from development to disease.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Generation and characterization of renal progenitors from pluripotent stem cells for the derivation of kidney organoids by culture systems such as assembloids.
- Generation and characterization of retinal progenitors from pluripotent stem cells for the derivation of retinal organoids.
- Generation and characterization of cardiac progenitors from pluripotent stem cells for the derivation of cardiac organoids.
- Characterization of renal, retinal, and cardiac organoids and assembloids.
- Use of the models developed in tasks 1-4 for the modeling of human pathologies: toxicity tests, metabolic tests, and functional tests.
Requirements for candidates:
- Higher level training cycle (CFGS) in Clinical and Biomedical Laboratory.
- Previous experience as laboratory technician in cell culture.
- Previous experience on basic molecular biology techniques (RNA isolation, protein isolation, Western Blot analysis, Sanger sequencing, RT-qPCR).
- Previous experience in organoid derivation.
- Experience in confocal microscopy analysis.
- Competencies and skills: Communication, Teamwork and collaboration, Commitment, Proactivity, Integrity, Critical and Analytical thinking.
- High level of English

- Permanent position (Specific Rate of Replacement for the stabilization of temporary work, requested by the Administration of the Generalitat based on the 4th additional provision of Royal Decree Law 32/2021, of December 28. Additional replacement rate authorized by the Ministry of Finance and Public Function. Approved by the IBEC Board of Trustees).
