Introduction to the vacant position:
The Nanobioengineering Group seeks an Early-Stage Researcher to contribute to research/development by assisting with experiments to the “Bioengineering for personalized pediatric oncology” research line. The contract will be within the framework of the Biomimetic Nanoparticles for Targeted Treatment of Pediatric Neuroblastoma (BATMAN; PID2020-117977RA-I00) project and supported by the Foundation Neuroblastoma and NEN Association.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Conduct research experiments
- Collect, analyze data, and summarize results
- Conduct literature reviews
- Attend project meetings
- Prepare progress reports for the PI and funding agency
- Manage and respond to project-related email
- Attend area seminars and other meetings as necessary
Requirements for candidates:
Essential:
- Degree/Master in Biomedical Engineering or Translational Research fields.
- Less than six months since the defense of the master’s degree
- Demonstrated training in cancer research (specifically on neuroblastoma will be a plus).
- Experience in culturing and maintaining mammalian cell lines.
- Experience in microfabrication techniques, device fabrication, and cleanroom work.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Strong time-management skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. High level of English
Advantageous:
- Experience in tumor-on-a-chip models fabrication and set-up
- Knowledge in nanomaterials characterization: DLS and zeta-potential
- Experience in confocal microscopy and imaging will be a plus.
