Raimon Jané and his collaborators’ Laryngoscope paper, ‘Continuous analysis and monitoring of snores and their relationship to the apnea-hypopnea index’, presented the results of a full-night automatic analyzer which showed that snoring intensity and frequency seem to differ depending on the sleeper’s apnea-hypopnea index. This could open new avenues into the automatic detection of disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea syndrome.
