This 2020, IBEC receives this accreditation again, for all the actions aimed at disseminating the scientific results in the media, as well as for its outreach activities. It is the third consecutive time that the centre renews this distinction since receiving it for the first time back in 2014.
In 2019 alone, the work of the UCC+i Unit at IBEC contributed to the generation of hundreds of impacts on scientific topics in the main media of the country, and promoted the dissemination of science and innovation also in television, radio and magazines.
During that same year, the unit also contributed to the culture of innovation with its presence in fairs such as 100XCiencia, organized by the network of centers of excellence SOMMa, as well as with the generation of news about medical devices arising from the research of excellence developed at IBEC.
Thanks to IBEC’s outreach activities the institute reached a face-to-face audience of more than 3400 people a year. Among the projects organized by the UCC+i of IBEC within its scientific dissemination program, it is worth mentioning its participation in the Magnet project. This program unites for 4 years educational centres that have an unbalanced social composition with an institution of excellence, with the aim of creating a joint, innovative and quality educational project.
It is also worth stressing the visits and school workshops that the unit organizes throughout the year, aimed at elementary, secondary and high school students.
