Researchers indentify new biomarkers of the most common lung cancer

IBEC researchers have identified new biomarkers of non-small cell lung cancer, the most common lung cancer. In the study they have discovered that certain characteristics of collagen fibers, which are found in the environment of cancer cells, would be potential indicators to diagnose and predict the evolution of the disease. The researchers have developed a new technique for assessing these collagen fibers, which is more affordable and easier for pathology units to incorporate.
