Launched by the CRG and part of the pan-European initiative Core for Life, BioCores@BCN (www.biocoresbcn.eu) is an online tool to help scientists or other customers find the local scientific service, technique or equipment they need for their biomedical or life sciences research. IBEC’s Nanotechnology Platform is one of the first core facilities to appear in the directory, and other participating institutes so far include IDIBAPS, VHIR, IMIM, Centres Científics i Tecnològics UB, IRB and CRG.
“Nowadays, scientists need effective access to the best research infrastructures in order to conduct their projects. In Barcelona alone, there’s highly specialized instrumentation, services and technical support available that many people might not even know about,” says Isabel Oliveira, Head of Core Facilities at IBEC. “With this new tool, the visibility of the Nanotechnology Platform will increase, and we hope that many new users from other institutions, both from academia and industry, will find out that the services we offer could be useful for their work.”
