The Premis Nacionals de Recerca (National Research Awards) are the highest distinctions awarded in the field of research in Catalonia. With the awards, the government, via the FCRI, promotes the social recognition of outstanding researchers, patrons, companies and journalists.
This year’s winner of the Premi Nacional de Recerca in the senior category was Lluís Torner, Director of ICFO. The National Awards for Scientific Patronage, Public-Private Partnership in R&D and Science Communication went to the “la Caixa” Foundation, the Centre Tecnològic de l’Aigua (Cetaqua), and Televisió de Catalunya’s Dinàmiks programme, respectively.
