The leader of the group “Plutipotency for Organ Regeneration” of the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) has been awarded the prestigious “Premi Nacional de Recerca al Talent Jove”, awarded by the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Fundació Catalana per a la Recerca i la Innovació (FCRi). The event has been directed by the President of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonès, together with the Minister for Research and Universities, Gemma Geis.
The award reflects the great scientific recognition of young researchers, companies and foundations who have excelled internationally. In the case of Núria Montserrat, these are mini-organs that allow us to understand fundamental processes of diseases, including covid, to test new treatments.
The mini-organs will play a key role in the preservation of tissues and organs for transplantation in the coming years.
