Rossella Castagna, postdoctoral researcher at IBEC wins the ISOP2019 prize

“I am very proud of this prize which comes from the recognition of the quality of the results presented at the photochromism conference in the field of photopharmacology and which is a stimulus for the whole group which I belong to continue the work in this direction”, says Rossella.

The Nanoprobes and Nanowitches group lead by Pau Gorostiza  design photoswitchable drugs that can exert their biological function when exposed to light. In particular, they aim at controlling neuronal activity with light-regulated drugs, which represents an important contribution of photochromism to pharmacology.
