Núria Montserrat, principal investigator at the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC), is featured in the newspaper “El País” for her work on the development of organoids through pluripotent stem cells that, in the future, could be used for transplants.
In its “It’s medicine, not science fiction” article, “El País” features important research such as the fight against antimicrobial resistance, the consolidation of precision oncology, nanotechnology, gene editing, the microbiome, robotic surgery, the fight against aging, transplants and neuroscience.
Right now, I can’t do a 7 by 12 centimeter organ. Maybe in 20 years. We are betting on giving the organ more life.
