IBEC’s CRISPR and organ regeneration project wins Fira Recerca en Directe 2019 vote

This year an IBEC project has won the Fira Recerca en Directe 2019’s public poll for most popular project, with 26.94% of the votes.

“CRISPR and the regeneration of organs” is one 11 activities which will take place at the research fair on 6th -14th March 2019 in CosmoCaixa.
This annual festival of science, organised by Parc Cientic of Barcelona in collaboration with Obra Social “la Caixa”, is a chance for research groups and universities to bring the latest in research to the attention of the public and school-age visitors with exciting demonstration stands and activities.

IBEC promotes the medicine of the future with a knowledge transfer event during the Barcelona Health Innovation Week 2026

Today, researchers, clinicians and innovation experts gathered at a conference organised by the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) as part of Barcelona Health Innovation Week 2026. The conference focused on accelerating the transfer of results towards a more personalised, preventive and sustainable future of medicine. The session emphasised the importance of strengthening interdisciplinary alliances to bring scientific advances to patients sooner, and highlighted the role of the Catalan biomedical ecosystem and the progress made by the Complementary Plan for Biotechnology Applied to Health in Catalonia.

The “Radical Science” programme comes to an end: an alliance between science, art and humanity

On 18 June, the CCCB hosted the closing ceremony of the programme, which offered an intense schedule of debates, artistic activities and meetings open to the public over the course of five months. These events aimed to explore how science will transform the world in the coming decades.
